The applicant must appear in person at the Consulate General and provide the following documents:
1) Statement
To be completed in Russian.
2) Questionnaire
To be completed in Russian.
3) (If available) a Russian citizen’s international passport
Original and copy of the page with personal data.
4) (If available) “internal” passport of a citizen of Russia
The original and copies of pages with personal data, marks on registration at the place of residence and/or deregistration at the place of residence in Russia.
(In the absence of a foreign or “internal” passport of a Russian citizen) a document of a foreign state certifying the identity and citizenship (status of a stateless person) of the applicant
For German citizens – Personalausweis, Reisepass.
The specified document is submitted in a copy (apostille is not required) with a translation into Russian. The copy’s compliance with the original and the accuracy of the translation are certified by a notary in Russia or at the Consulate General by appointment (https://q.midpass.ru/).
5) (If available) passport of a citizen of the USSR
The original and copies of pages with personal data, marks on registration at the place of residence and/or deregistration at the place of residence.
- (In case of change of surname, first name and/or patronymic) documents certifying the change of name
6) Originals and copies of all pages of the following documents:
- certificate of change of surname, first name or patronymic;
- marriage/divorce certificate;
- adoption certificate;
- other documents that allow tracing the sequence of changes in the installation data.
- Original documents issued by foreign authorities and drawn up in a foreign language must be certified with the Apostille stamp and translated into Russian (including the Apostille stamp). The accuracy of the translation is certified by a notary in Russia or at the Consulate General by appointment (https://q.midpass.ru/).
7) Birth certificate
Original and copy.
The original birth certificate issued by a foreign authority and drawn up in a foreign language must be certified with the Apostille stamp and translated into Russian (including the Apostille stamp). The accuracy of the translation is certified by a notary in Russia or at the Consulate General by appointment (https://q.midpass.ru/).
8) (If available) an insert confirming the acquisition of Russian citizenship
The original and a copy of the insert issued to the birth certificate or passport of a citizen of the USSR/Russia.
9) Other documents
Documents indirectly confirming the fact of residence in Russia on February 6, 1992:
- work book with records of work activity on the specified date;
- school leaving certificate;
- diploma of completion of an educational institution;
- military ID;
- a certificate from an authorized body on registration at the place of residence in Russia on the specified date.
(If the applicant was under 18 years of age on 6 February 1992 or was born after that date; if available) copies of his parents’ documents
10) Photography
Size: 3.5 x 4.5 cm, full face, on a light background.
11) Envelope
The applicant’s postal address is indicated in block letters in German on the lower right side of the envelope.
‼The applicant may be asked to provide other documents necessary to determine his/her citizenship, marital status or to clarify other information.
‼Checking for Russian citizenship is carried out within 3 months.
